By recording the memories and experiences of other people we are collecting unique historical documents that allow us to help preserve a history that might otherwise be lost.
Our practical course aims to provide a better understanding of the various techniques and skills involved in the oral history process. From the more technical knowledge to use recording equipment, to the process of interviewing someone, as well as discussion of the ethical and legal responsibilities, we can provide a hands-on introduction to oral history for anyone wanting to volunteer or those with an interest in just learning more
Our oral history training can be offered to small groups, or as part of an 'Archive Weekend' or other event.
Please contact the team to discuss arranging your own event or to enquire about the next course.
