MASHA PICHUGINA grew up in Kitezh, and is head of the new community, Orion. MARIA KRIVENKOVA is a teacher and foster mother in Kitezh Therapeutic Community. They were attending the Mulberry Bush Training/Planned Environment Therapy Trust residential course "A Living Learning Experience - An Introduction to Therapeutic Child Care" (27-29 September 2007), and dropped into the Archive and Study Centre to record an interview about these remarkable children's communities.


Kitezh and Orion are groundbreaking communities, with Kitezh a member of the Charterhouse Group of Therapeutic Communities. Volunteers are invited to come to Russia to help to build and support the communities. The Kitezh web-site is www.kitezh.org.

At the time of the talk John Whitwell was Principal of the Cotswold Communty in Wiltshire. He is currently, at the time of broadcast, Executive Director of ISP - Integrated Service Programme.
